Grand Master Hyo Bang, an 8th Degree Certified Black Belt (kukkiwon), has been bringing top-quality Taekwondo instruction to Northwest Bakersfield since 2008. Located by the scenic Riverlakes Golf Course, our studio offers engaging classes for preschoolers up to adults, focusing on physical, mental, and life-skills development. Master Bang's Martial Arts offers classes for all ages, including engaging foundational programs for ages 3-5, goal-oriented training for ages 6-11, and confidence-building classes for teens and adults (12 and up). This is our “Pre-K” into the regular Taekwondo program. The Tiger Tots mission is Character Development and building a positive Teacher – Student relationship. We use the tools of kicking and punching to excite and motivate children to enjoy discipline, respect, and structure. We also introduce “achievement-based learning” by rewarding positive behavior daily.
Graduating from this class indicates the child is ready to begin the journey to Black Belt!

Our 6-11 year old classes focus on building confidence, discipline, and a love for learning through martial arts. Students set and achieve personal goals, developing perseverance and a sense of accomplishment that extends beyond the studio. Under the guidance of our instructors, they enhance their physical fitness, self-defense skills, and focus in a fun, supportive environment. These classes lay a strong foundation for success in Taekwondo, school, and life.

Meet Our Instructors
Grand Master Hyo Bang started his Martial Arts journey at the age of six, and since that time he has dedicated his life wholeheartedly learning and teaching the Taekwondo way. He attended Yong In Univeristy in South Korea, where he continued his martial arts career as the head captain of the Taekwondo team at one of the world’s leading martial arts universities.
Since becoming an instructor in 1998, Grand Master Bang has passionately devoted sharing his expertise, guiding countless students to achieve their dreams—including helping athletes reach National Team status.
Now, with over 40 years of experience, Grand Master Bang remains committed to delivering the highest quality Martial Arts to you and your family! Over the course of his career, Grand Master Bang has brought back many great and outstanding achievements reflecting his passion and dedication to Taekwondo.
Master Smith began his Taekwondo journey under the guidance of Grand Master Bang, embracing the values and discipline of this martial art from the very start.
Through years of dedicated training, Master Smith has honed their skills and developed a deep passion for teaching and inspiring others.
Master Sons began his Taekwondo training under the guidance of Grand Master Bang, embracing his philosophy and dedication to the martial art.
Following in Grand Master Bang’s footsteps, Master Sons is passionate about teaching students not just the physical techniques of Taekwondo but also its lifelong benefits, including discipline, confidence, and respect.
